We are seeking an experienced Information (Cyber) Security Engineer to join our Information Security team. The successful candidate will assist in various facets, including development and implementation of solutions, standards and processes. He/she will participate in threat modeling and risk assessment activities and will provide guidance on security best practices. The ideal candidate works autonomously and grasps the impact of his or her work on existing and planned capabilities. In addition, they embrace collaboration with strong interpersonal and communication skills within the team and throughout the organization. Lastly, they will embody the mission to enable business agility and protect our member’s data and trust.

  • Serves as an information security team member to deliver various security projects and solution.
  • Performs technical implementation tasks as well as operate various security tools and capabilities.
  • Triage and lead escalated Security events and incident.
  • Work independently or among team members to ensure incident procedures address the objectives of the security incident response program, and review required documentation for adherence to the department standards and process.
  • Effectively respond to case work relating to computer security vulnerabilities, phishing, malware, and forensic investigations
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to changing priorities, and operate effectively in a dynamic demand-based environment, requiring extreme flexibility and responsiveness
  • Lead and manage security incidents to ensure timely mitigation and remediation efforts are completed
  • Investigate network anomalies and other cyber security events to determine the cause and extent of exposure and overall risk to the environment
  • Preserve, harvest, and process electronic data according to company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in forensic investigations as required, to include the collection, preservation of electronic evidence, analysis, and creation of a final report
  • Preserve and forensically analyze data from electronic data sources, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, and mobile devices
  • Assist intrusion remediation and strategy development and implementation.
  • Recommend effective process changes to enhance defense and response procedures.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve high or critical severity level incidents.
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.

Required Skills and Experience
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, related degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ year in security field
  • Experience with current industry security best practices
  • Experience with Cloud Security best practices
  • Experience with Cloud Services (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of security compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI, SOX, NIST, SSAE16 etc.)
  • Able to perform in a rapid business and agile environment
  • Highly organized and focused to deliver results
  • Ability to analyze requirements delivered by the stakeholders and develop architectures, management strategies and project plans.
  • Advanced technical hands on knowledge of Linux, Windows, LAN/WAN, modern commercial and open source security tools, configuration management framework.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
